In his defence he could be using a spell check.

I think a good amount is also Okonkwo being exceptionally good and stopping the goals!
The man needs signing ASAP

Yep, and of the 13 goals conceded in 4 games before Foster retired how many is Arthur saving?

Foster himself said that he should have saved 5 or 6. Arthur is probably saving most of them.

I think he's on 6 clean sheets in 12 games now - if he carried on at that rate for the rest of the season , even if we didn't score a single goal , he'd guarantee us getting to around 50 points come the end of the season .... it's November & if we didn't score another goal all season , Arthur's clean sheets would mean we won't get relegated

P.S. We're also the top scorers in the EFL / premiership

But only Tranmere in League 2 have scored less than us away from home. Things have gone really well, but Parky has to address the failings away from home, in particular the fact that the class acts like Mullin and Lee often fail to deliver.

Agreed, but looking at our form and where we sit in the league , you have to admit things are going pretty well and worth remembering that we've played more of the top sides away from home than most (we've played all of the top 7 away from home ( apart from Crewe ) I believe , so we have easier games to come overall away from home

.... and to the original point , we've certainly gone a long way to addressing our early season defensive frailties

Players weren't match fit .

We'd had very little time for McClean , Evans, Boyle & Fletcher to bed in with the squad during pre season

Howard came in and steadied the ship to a degree , but Arthur has taken things up to another level .

The balance we have in the back 3 now is VERY good , with TOC being a big part of that , as is Evans when he plays there

We went through a spell with 3 CBs who could all play the ball very well - we stopped just pumping it down field - that made a huge difference . Tozer having players he trusts to get on with the game either side of him makes a huge difference to his game too

Basing our MF on Lee, JJ Evans & Cannon also made a big difference , still plenty of energy , but more controlled passing .

Mullin getting back to fitness also makes a huge difference to our defensive stats - he presses from the front and occupies defenders - they have to focus more on him than joining in with their attack .

Finally , having 2 proper wingbacks fit ( be it McClean , Mendy , Barnett or Forde ) makes a huge difference to our ability to control the game and hence ease the pressure on the defence .

It's a combination of things .... 6 clean sheets in 12 for Arthur speaks voumnes though
It will be interesting when Season 3 comes out to see if anything about this and the US tour is mentioned. IMHO it did have a big effect on the start of the season. We looked miles off the pace.
