First 15 were cagey and poor quality from both sides. No denying red changed the game but we do seem so much more reserved away from home and today no exception.
Thought they were poor to be honest and I reckon it would have been 0-0 if 11 v 11. This though is definitely an example of where we need some pace especially up front to occupy the defence and stretch the game.

This is it in a nutshell. Newport didn't tire because they played against 10 men for 75 minutes which means we got very little to create with. We don't seem to have a Plan B which is a concern.

That’s clearly not true. We struggle away from home with teams pressing us. The only centre back we have who can play with the ball at his feet is O’Connor. Tozer and Cleworth panic when pressed and launch it forward in the air. O’Connell and Tunicliffe are a bit better but they are rarely fit to play.

Poor performances all round. Feared the worst when I saw the team and bench and it proved to be right. Have said for a long time that our squad is not as strong as some claim to it to be - point proven today. Tactics also under question - how many times to Max Cleworth pump it into that corner? The odd occasion we played it quick and fast on the floor, we looked marginally better. Someone does need to be questioning these away performances though, happening far too often

Another crap performance away from home. We did nothing. The annoying thing is they were awful. If we'd have half turned up we'd have beat these.

Don't know what the answer is but it's not good enough away. Don't mind losing if we have a go and the other sides decent, but neither were true today.

Out of interest, what was our away following today?

Parky will obviously come out and say it's not a red but I hope he's torn a strip off Boyle in the dressing room. These moronic red cards have got to stop.
Saying to my mate before the game, we haven’t had a fully convincing away performance in the league all season. Mansfield was excellent in the cup, Tranmere I suppose however they were non league standard at the time.

Our home form will get us up I think but we may get found out in League One f we get there and if we don’t sort it.

Anyway we usually bounce back from days like today so roll on Salford.
