I hope series 4 goes back to more episodes but shorter as the longer episodes in series 3 haven’t always worked I don’t think

The short episodes always seemed to be over before they got started. I much prefer the longer ones and thought the better episodes from the earlier series were often the extended ones.

Just watch half at a time

If anyone is interested...

"It took, however, long time until the features of today’s football had been taken into practice. For a long time there was no clear distinction between football and rugby. There were also many variations concerning the size of the ball, the number of players and the length of a match."

"The game was often played in schools and two of the predominant schools were Rugby and Eton. At Rugby the rules included the possibility to take up the ball with the hands and the game we today know as rugby has its origin from here. At Eton on the other hand the ball was played exclusively with the feet and this game can be seen as a close predecessor to the modern football. The game in Rugby was called “the running game” while the game in Eton was called “the dribbling game”.

A brief excerpt on the history of Gridiron Football.

"The sport we in the United States know and love as football is more properly called gridiron football, for the vertical yard lines that mark the field. Closely related to two ancient English sports—rugby and soccer (or association football)—gridiron football originated at universities in North America, primarily the United States, in the late 19th century. On November 6, 1869, players from Princeton and Rutgers held the first intercollegiate football contest in New Brunswick, New Jersey, playing a soccer-style game with rules adapted from the London Football Association."

"While a number of other elite Northeastern colleges took up the sport in the 1870s, Harvard University maintained its distance by sticking to a rugby-soccer hybrid called the “Boston Game.” In May 1874, after a match against McGill University of Montreal, the Harvard players decided they preferred McGill’s rugby-style rules to their own. In 1875, Harvard and Yale played their first intercollegiate match, and Yale players and spectators (including Princeton students) embraced the rugby style as well."

William Webb-Ellis would have been missed by today's VAR!

In American Football the New England Patriots lived off that. Everyone in the league understood you play there for less money then win a SuperBowl you cash in after that. Several players did just that and openly talked that was their plan all along.
True because Brady continually took less money while Belichick forced him to make do with cheaper players so that the money could be spread out across a deeper squad. Coaches and Brady had to make less expensive players play harder/better and a few key veterans kept the winning culture alive.

Difference though is that generally they were all millionaires even if they were taking less play to work for Bill because they wanted championship rings. Parky is doing a great job with the team culture and the depth of the squad. Going to be fascinating to see how the wage structure survives when they go after higher-priced talent up the pyramid.

Max's contract extension is going to be a statement of the club's intent one way or the other.

I too prefer the hour long episodes. 30 minutes was barely enough time to get into the story. That said, the younger generation has a much shorter attention span. After 90 seconds, they lose interest. Hence the popularity of TikTok.

It's not just the young uns, my wife is addicted to it.
In this case I don't think it's generational at all, it's the algorithm they use that keeps you addicted to clicking the next video In the forlorn hope that it's going to be good.
I'm not on Tik Tok, but YouTube is not blameless in this department and I can find myself wasting more hours than I care to mention on it

My only hope is that Rob and Ryan give a proper end to the series. If there is ever an episode where Mullin is asked to water ski over a shark, it will have gone too far.
