A player for the future without doubt, the lad played well tonight and if i was to pick a man of the match i would of chosen him, followed closley by Keates. But was really impressed with Walker tonight.

If our youth system is producing lads like Declan Walker, then fair play it's doing it's job. I just hope he fulfils his potential with us and if he does go on to better things that we get a good fee for him.

It would be nice to think that Declan Walker, Jamie Morton and Johnny Hunt to name three could break through into our team and help lead us back into the league and up another division, we can still dream can't we

The problem these days is that with 1 yr contracts there won't be transfer fees it will only be compensation for there youth development ala Taylor/Fleming, look at he amount of players who have moved over the last season or two between lower division clubs for a fee

I'd like to see Declan in the 1st team this year giving Obeng some good competition.

I thought he started off pretty poorly, got into the game more as it went on though. Thought Jamie did excellent when he came on

I would play him from the off, I don't think Obeng has done enough to earn the shirt at the moment. It's a big challenge to Obeng now, lets see if he can go out and earn that shirt for the 14th August.

Right back has been a problem position for a while (mind you the whole 11 has been a problem too).

Johnny Hunt is effectively on a 2 year contract as Saunders extended his contract a couple of weeks ago to the end of the 2011-2012 season.

This could be because a premiership club are monitoring him.

I thought Walker had a good game last night - the one recovery tackle after Blackburn's error stands out and also he was promising as an attacker making Mangan's goal with a good break and cross. He seems to have forged ahead of Obeng in Saunder's thinking and of course has just been called up by Ireland U19 squad. Definitely one for the future.
