That includes the rent we pay and the Cru rent that we lose.

You can play arount with the figures a bit but at that level the trust bid is a no goer.

Remember the uni have to charge a market rent.

How do you plug that hole in the finances?

Two other things - glyndwr wont commit to a lease until they own the stadium.

and

it would be sept/oct before glyndwr could proceed.

Glyndwr and Moss = Club killers.
Yeah, I meant colliers.....

I still think the uni doesn't understand the effect his would have or Moss has a mate at the uni and this bid puts pressure on WST bid just as we are trying to hammer the price down.

Why do the uni want the ground?

There is no reason to doubt Lindsay's source in the council but neither would it be unreasonable to expect Glyndwr and Wrexham Council, two parties identified by WST as key players in a community-based club, to discuss what the next step might be should WST buy Wrexham FC from the current owners.
While it's clear WST is in no position at present, and is unlikely so to be in the medium term, to buy the Racecourse and Colliers Park, I doubt Moss and Roberts are likely to agree a pay-as-you go arrangement if there is an alternative source of finance that allows them to quickly sever all links with the club and the Racecourse.
Nowhere in the university statement (reproduced below) does it state that a sole bid is on the table - rather it reiterates all the principles that have been central to WST's case for taking the club into fans' ownership.
As for the case of ownership of the Racecourse or lease, the existing costs of running the Racecourse will be assumed by the purchaser. The urgent need for extensive refurbishment of the preesntly crumbling facilities before any new development can even be considered leads me to believe renting on a long lease - a fixed cost - might be the prudent alternative for a Trust-owned Wrexham FC.
One final thought - the Trust has made it clear it can't on its own achieve all its goals. It's time to trust someone else, isn't that what partnership is all about?

"Glyndwr University is part of continuing discussions about the future of the Racecourse ground and the Gresford training facility.
"As a charity, Glyndwr University is bound by regulations pertaining to charitable bodies and as such is unable to take any responsibility for Wrexham AFC or the Crusaders Rugby League Team.
"The university is keen to ensure that the stadium and training ground are used for the purpose of sport, educational users and as a community asset to cater for the existing users of the stadium and the people of Wrexham and North Wales.
"The university can offer no further comment at this stage."

Like the "existing user" part, maybe its not as bad as we fear!
Can only hope

glyndwr is into its sports degrees and i would imagine would use colliers to enhance its portfolio. I dont see any immediate danger with their proposal.

Partnership IS all about trust, but that includes letting your partners know what you are doing!

Within that GU statement there is a glaring omission..."These discussions are part of our proposed partnership with...." Why not say that to set fans' minds at rest? No, we get the "no further comment" comment.

In addition I would be extremely concerned about Wrexham FC ending up having to pay full market rent on what is, let's face it, somethnig that was handed back to them by the courts then ripped off them again.

Sorry, leftfoot, but with your track record, the moment you imply everything is fine is the moment I get really worried.

Isn't Glyndwr University classed as a public body? If so, lets get the FOI requests in straight away.

Also, if this information has come from WCBC and they have been talking to Glyndwr University, then we can also send FOI requests to WCBC itself.

WhatDoTheyKnow - Make and browse Freedom of Information (FOI) requests
