Ray Charnley was past it when he arrived but I always liked Tony Beanland, did the "dirty work" for the team well but I suspect many might class him as the Rutherford of that day. |

Charnley scored 193 goals in 363 games between 1957 and 1967 in the old League Division 1 (Premier)...so yes a brilliant player but well past his best when he signed for Wrexham. I remember Tony Beanland scoring a worldly against Rochdale at the Kop end one wet Tuesday night. |
