Default Humph on Mullin, Kop and training ground

Hi all

We had Humphrey Ker on for FiD's 150th episode (lot more than we were ever expecting when we started this)
He talked Mullin, Kop and training ground. Tried to push him on US tour but he's a wily fox. Reckon will be in one place rather than criss-crossing coasts this time though.
He's as erudite as ever (much more than we are) and it's all the pod channels or watch here...

Good work by the FID chaps again. Thanks !

Interesting (and understandable) that the main reason given for SPM not firing this season is the wrecking of his ore-season by that Manc keeper.

I've heard it said many times that a player with little or no pre-season will always remain behind everyone else because that's when all the core strength and conditioning happens. You can't regain that during the regular season. He's also currently carrying a knock or two hence managing minutes. Seems we won't see the best of him until next season

Also got feeling there's currently no pressure on Parky. They are happy with our position but can obviously change if the slump continues.

Confirmation of tour to the US again but as you say, likely to be one, maybe two bases in the same time zone this time around with more emphasis on matches/training than travelling. Amen to that.

Wasn't aware the transformers. ie.substation repositioning had been completed...as mentioned in video. Positive news if correct.

Good to hear that they will be concentrating on matches/training in the US tour next time.

Everyone is learning as we make our way on this rise up the pyramid, with plenty of bumps along the way.

Enjoyed that as I always do.

Interesting to hear via Humphrey that Mullin is disappointed with his season to date.

Great pod. Love the man but it’s a shame that HK is falling into the media team trap of accusing anyone that beats us as “celebrating it like a cup final” though.

We celebrate wins at the Racecourse no matter who the opponent - Mullin does his fist pumps to the GUS. Let the opposition have their moment.

I thought he was at least decent (if not vintage) until early January when his form really fell off, if he's indeed fighting a couple of other 'knocks' now, that fits in timewise seemingly.

re: the tour with nothing more than just my own speculation, since they went south and west last time they may well stick to the northeast area (say, NY, Chicago, Columbus) and not travel 'as' much - going three time zones and cross-country was a bit ambitious. I guess he basically confirmed they ARE having another form of a US tour next preseason in any event.

Staying in one time zone and getting back in the UK at least 2 weeks before the first game (in League One) need to be priorities this time.

The US tours bring in so much money we really can't turn them down
