York (h) Preview

Wrexham vs York- September 17th, 3:00pm K.O

Just a quick preview today due to time constraints (I’ve got to get to the match from Liverpool afterall), as we face York at home. We’ll be looking to get back to winning ways after a disappointing loss against Barrow.

Ex-Wrexham players Michael Ingham and Jamie Reed, who went from here to York via Rhyl and Bangor City, should be lining up for the away team. Having seen Jamie Reed play for Bangor, including him scoring 2 against old club and rivals Rhyl, he looked a totally different player to what we saw at the Racecourse and you could tell his confidence was high after scoring a lot of goals in the WPL. Unsurprising really considering he didn’t have many chances here, in what was probably wrong place wrong time for him.

Prediction and Attendance

York have had a mixed, yet steady, start to the season and they have a strong squad, so will most likely be there or there abouts come the end of the year. We’d do well to get a result, but as it’s at home I’d like to see us bounce back to winning ways. Hopefully we can nick a win, and I feel it will be vital to carrying on the run. A boring 1-0 to us will suit me fine! Attendance should be around 3,500 I’d imagine

Likely Starting XI

Maxwell

Obeng —– Knight-Percival ————- Creighton—– Ashton

Fowler

Tolley ——————— Harris

Morrell ————————————————— Speight

Pogba

We should see Maxwell (Deano permitting) and Creighton back in the squad today, with Pogba being the natural replacement for Wright.

Poll Results- Was Saunders right to drop Maxwell?

Surprisingly the results show a slight favour for yes, which is good to see people sticking with the manager even when it turned out to be a mistake. Hopefully everyone can put it behind them today so we can carry on with the season.

Yes   63 56.76%
No   48 43.24%
