Burger-king Roberts strikes again
Top sausages

Bury: Peter Davies commented: “I had a burger (£2.15), a Kit Kat (50p) and a cup of tea (75p). The burger was nice, but I was a little concerned that my initial request for a cheeseburger had been rebuffed because there was ‘no cheese available’. When Bury cheeseburgers had been advertised so publicly, what kind of comment was this? Anyway, I got over my disappointment and tucked into a non-cheeseburger. It was fine. The only thing that worried me was the circumference of the burger and the bread roll - just slightly smaller than usual. Size, though, is never everything - and the burger had, nevertheless, good credentials. The tea was standard fare and so was the Kit Kat (red wrapper and chocolatey). Carl Tunnah was spotted with two burgers and Allan Thomas with one - so the burgers must have been a quality purchase as well.”

Bristol Rovers: Daniel Jennings declared: “I had a sausage roll. It was 80p and dead nice. The pastry was lovely and hot.” Dean Domerecki stated: “Cornish pasty from The Real Cornish Pasty Company, £1.80, coffee 80p. Usually when you see ‘The Real…’ anything, you think to yourself ‘like hell it is’, but in this case I’m happy to report that the pasty did indeed seem like something Mrs Nankervis would have given to her husband to take down the mine with him a hundred years ago. One advantage of taking it down a mine would have been the absence of the howling gale that we got at Rovers - in fact, my only (slight) criticism of the pasty was that it wasn’t quite heavy enough, as whenever I had to put it down it started to get blown away. Best footy food yet this season, in my opinion.”

Scunthorpe: Mark Williams reflected: “Coffee - £1. Not that good considering it was Gold Blend - you got a pretty small cup for the price. Silly me - I was at a football match so I should have expected to get ripped off! The catering facilities at Glanford Park made the food outlets at motorway service stations look value for money! I was also judging the coffee on the basis of the one I bought at TNS, which was personally made in the normal way and tasted perfect - and only cost 50p! I didn't buy a burger but when I got my coffee there was this woman sticking a metal thing into the burgers (maybe a high-class thermometer). Strange.”
