Season 2000-2001 (so far)
Tranmere by David Jennings
Front cover? Action photo plus logos.
Value for money? £2 for a thin 40 pages. Decent content? Two pages on WFC, a special 'injuries' column, and the usual manager's column.
Attractive design? Very organised.
Best article? Mrs Rogers' piece.
Overall? Not bad - but too slim.
Wigan by Peter Davies
Front cover? Blue and glossy.
Value for money? 50 pages plus insert publication for £2. Fine.
Decent content? Yes - varied, colourful, topical.
Attractive design? OK graphically-speaking but very small font size. It also smelt lovely.
Best article? Paul Jewell's piece (p.6) - written in the aftermath of the 5-1 LDV drubbing. You can imagine the tone.
Overall? Excellent.
Huddersfield by Peter Davies
Front cover? Action pic featuring two anonymous players.
Value for money? £2 for 50 pages. Standard.
Decent content? All the usual stuff including a none-too-flattering photo of the Racecourse Paddock that looked like it had been taken in about 1382.
Attractive design? Yes - and a nice big font.
Best article? Very serious piece on testicular cancer (pp.40-1). A must-read article.
Overall? High-quality accompaniment to a 5-1 massacre.
