Travel Guide

Directions from Wrexham: Depart south from Wrexham on the A483 and then the A5 towards Shrewsbury. Keep on the A5 as it bypasses Shrewsbury until you reach the roundabout with the junction of the A49/A5112. Take the first exit at the roundabout (s/p Shrewsbury A5112) and straight on at the Hereford Road roundabout (s/p Meole Brace, Town centre). Follow these signs through the Meole Brace and Reabrook roundabouts passing Shrewsbury College up to yet another roundabout.  This one has a large Nelson Column statute on your right and here take the third exit into Abbey Forgate and following this road down until you come to the Abbey passing the Dun Cow pub on your left *.  The ground is further down this road on your right before you reach the elaborate railway bridge.
Car Parking: *=The Abbey Forgate car park is on your left hand side after 1/2 mile and is free after 6:30pm. There is parking behind the away end at the ground (£2.00) and there is further town centre parking if you follow the signs past the ground.
By Train: Nearest Train Station is Shrewsbury. The back route to the ground has reopened cutting down the walk. Head over the railway bridge and the bear right down to the ground. Otherwise you will have to walk through the town centre or jump in a taxi costing £2.00. Click here for the Rail Track Online Timetable or call national enquiries on 08457 484950.

Bus Station: Bus Numbers 1 and 11 from the town centre.
Beer: Not really advisable considering the rivalry but for quality the The Crown is only 2 minuets from the ground providing you like pre match banter. On your way in you would have passed the Dun Cow in a Tudor building - currently called Ushers it serves quality pies as well. The tow centre has plenty of options and when heading from the town centre you will pass the Nags Head on your way. Due to the rivalry your best bet is without colours unless you know the area well.
Grub: Try Desperate Dan pies and Barmaids. the Abbey Chip shop is conveniently located next to the entrance to the ground.
Cash Machines: Lloyds Machine on Abbey Forgate otherwise you are looking at the town centre.

Match Build Up

Team News

Shrewsbury Town Wrexham
Injuries: Mark Atkins has been ruled out with cartilage damage to his knee and Ian Woan will undergo a fitness test after receiving treatment to a muscle injury in his left leg. Injuries: Paul Edwards and Steve Roberts remain the only doubt from Saturday. Edwards will have an injection to see if he plays and Steve Roberts took a knock to his jaw whilst suffering from toothache but should be fit.
Suspensions: Luke Rodgers and Nigel Jemson Suspensions: None.
Squad: Not announced. Squad (18): Dibble, Rogers, Carey, Morgan, Roberts, Lawrence, Edwards, Edwards, Holmes, Spender, Thomas, Ferguson, Whitley, Green, Barrett, Morrell, Trundle, Jones.
Other News: Kevin Ratcliffe made a number of changes for the basement battle against Swansea on the weekend. With strikers Rodgers and Jemson suspended Ratcliffe also dropped Ryan Low and Leon Drysdale and replace all four with Partridge, Watts, Holt, Matt Redmile and Sam Aiston. Shrewsbury's fourth deadline day signing, Robin Hulbert, started on the bench and Ryan Low will most likely start from there after venting his frustrations in the press on Monday after being dropped. Other News: The good news for Dennis Smith is that the remaining three defenders - Brian Carey, Dennis Lawrence and Craig Morgan - have returned to training after missing Monday with Morgan playing is Roberts does not make it. Paul Edwards is the biggest doubt and don't be surprised it Shaun Holmes starts in his place on the left wing. Elsewhere it is unchanged with Andy Dibble in goal; a midfield three of Jim Whitley, Darren Ferguson and Scot Green with Andy Morrell and Lee Trundle up front and Carlos Edwards on the right.
