Press Conference Quotes |
Denis Smith: "Very good result and Andy Morrell was unlucky not to get his hat-trick. The lad deserved it. I thought we played better on Tuesday, but it’s hard to keep that standard up all the time. Once we had got to 3-0 at half time I told the lads wanted a cleansheet in the second half. The fact that they didn’t score we have to be happy with. Andy Dibble didn’t have a save to make in the second period. We won our individual battles all over the pitch. Steve Roberts as had two physical battles now this week and he has come through both of them, which is just what we are looking for. I thought we played better on Tuesday, but it’s hard to keep that standard up all the time. There were certain aspects of the game which didn’t please me and I can’t believe I’m complaining about the referee when we’ve won 4-0." |
Darren Ferguson: "That sort of performance has been coming," beamed midfield playmaker Darren Ferguson. We have put together stuff like that in spells already this season but this time we got the goals. The game was over after half an hour. I won't say we will be promoted, but on that form we must have a very good chance." |
Nick Cusack: "I'm very disappointed. I don't want to stand here for 20 minutes discussing that because I think it speaks for itself. It doesn't help us when we concede a goal so early on. The goalkeeper's called for it when he's got absolutely no chance of getting it and as a result we're a goal down straight away. Our defending was chronic once again but it's difficult because the personnel are not available to us at the moment. Neil Sharp's out and it's about time Jason Smith was back. We'll have to monitor him because he's been to see another consultant so we'll have to see what the situation with that is. But there's little room for manoeuvre there. As far as I'm concerned I've got to go away and think about the situation and then work really hard to put things right." |
