Travel Guide

For your comprehensive guide to visiting Wrexham see RP's Racecourse Essentials

Directions from the South: Leave the M6 at Junction 10a turning left onto the M54. After approximately 21 miles the M54 becomes the A5. Stay on the A5 passing Shrewsbury and when you reach Oswestry turn right at the roundabout (An ESSO Service Station will be on your left), staying on the A5. At the junction of the A5 and the A483 (An McDonalds Drive Through will be on your right) go straight on at the roundabout to join the A483 signposted Wrexham. After approximately 8 miles leave the A483 at the junction of the A541 signposted Wrexham and Mold. At the roundabout turn right towards Wrexham and the ground is ahead of you on your left.

Car Parking: NEWI College just before the ground and a local car park just before the Shell Garage on the opposite side of the road and both cost around £2.00. Free parking is available on the two retail parks by turning left or right at the second roundabout but do not park in ALDI or you will get clamped!

By Train: Wrexham General is next to the ground and there is a service every two hours between Chester and Shrewsbury. There is also an hourly service between Wrexham and Liverpool. Click here for the Rail Track Online Timetable or call national enquiries on 08457 484950.

By Bus: Wrexham Bus Station is only a five minute walk from the ground but if you want to catch a bus to the ground then use a number 11, 18a or 21 bus. If you prefer to walk then turn left out of the bus station and turn right at to the end of this road. Then walk through to set of lights and the ground will be ahead of you just past Wrexham General Train Station. For enquiries call 01978 363760.

Match Build Up

Team News

Wrexham Southend
Injuries: Waynne Phillips, Mark Jones, Paul Barrett. Injuries: Phil Whelan (cartilage), Stephen Broad (hernia), Graeme Jones (calf) and David McSweeney (Garden Wall!).
Suspensions: None. Suspensions: Tesfaye Bramble
Squad (17): Dibble, Roberts, Carey, Lawrence, C. Edwards, P. Edwards, Whitley, Ferguson, Green, Morrell, Trundle, Sam, L Jones, Holmes, Thomas, Pejic, Rogers. Squad (19): Flahavan, Sutch, Cort, Kelly, Searle, Marney, Maher, Smith, Clark, Foley, Rawle, Gay, Beard, Jenkins, Jordan, Thurgood, Tilson, Belgrave, Salter.
Other News: If today's signing Scott Green is to start then he is likely to replace Steve Thomas in midfield to join Darren Ferguson and Jim Whitley. Apart from this possibility Denis Smith is unlikely to make further changes with Andy Dibble in goal with a back three of Brian Carey, Steve Roberts and Dennis Lawrence. The wing backs of Carlos and Paul Edwards will remain unchanged and Andy Morrell is expected to shrug off a dead leg to partner Lee Trundle up front.  Other News: On loan Wolves striker Dominic Foley will start up front as a replacement for the suspended Tesfaye Bramble. Foley will partner either Mark Rawle or Barrington Belgrave and this is expected to be the only change to the starting line up. Between the sticks will be Darryl Flahaven and in front of him will be a back four of Damon Searle, Stephen Kelly, Leon Court and Daryl Such. Kevin Mather will skipper the side from midfield and he will be joined by Danny Marney, Jay Smith and Steve Clark.
