Travel Guide

Directions from Wrexham: Head south from Wrexham on the A483, A5 and joining the M54 after Shrewsbury. At the end of the M54 joining the M6 at junction 10a and continue until the end of the M6. At the junction with the M1 leave the motorway taking the A14 towards Kettering. Continue on the A14 past Kettering and at the junction with the A6 turn right onto the A 6 following signs for Bedford. Go round the Burton Latimer Bypass continuing on the A6 travelling through Finedon. Leave the A6 at the Nene Park roundabout turning left into Diamond Way and the ground will be ahead of you.
Car Parking: There is a car park at the ground and to find this follow on from the directions above and the car park is just after the ground. The only problem is that it can get congested after a game with hold ups of up to one hour. Alternatively you can turn right at the roundabout by the ground and park along Station Road. If you prefer a public car park then continue along station road are there is one just off the roundabout before you reach the High Street. It will take you ten minutes to walk back to the ground from here.
By Train: Nearest Train Station is Wellingborough. The station a six miles walk from the ground so a taxi is your safest bet You can pre book a taxi by using one of the following taxi firms: Jaycabs 01933 229229; Nucabs 01933 226565; Cabco 01933 278888; Phoenix Cars 01933 225533; Station Taxis 01933 678826. The other option is to walk into the Town Centre and catch a No 45 bus to the ground. To walk to the ground follow the road past the car park and at the Station Pub turn right into Midland Road and follow this into Wellingborough Town Centre. Turn right at the fork after passing the Police Station passing some takeaways on your right hand side. At the top of Midland Road turn right next to Burtons and continue on this road until you reach the Palace Snooker Hall where you turn left and walk up the hill until you reach Tresham College on your left and in front of this are the bus shelters. Quotes
Rushden & Diamonds Wrexham
Brian Talbot: "We now have to bounce back and I think it will be very difficult. Wrexham have also been in the second division for a long time so we will have to get used to their style of play. People are quickly forgetting this is only our second season in the Football League. We are looking forward to Saturday because we have to bounce back. I think Saturday will be our toughest game of the season.” Denis Smith: "There’s no place in the world you can’t go and win. Some are more difficult than others - and this will be a difficult one. On paper, it looks a cracking game, but games aren’t played on paper and it could be a boring 0-0 draw but somehow I don’t think so. We’ll always score goals because the system we play is an attacking system. We’ve got players capable of scoring and we’ve also got pace in positions where it’s vital.”
