Travel Guide

For your comprehensive guide to visiting Wrexham see RP's Racecourse Essentials

Directions from the South: Leave the M6 at Junction 10a turning left onto the M54. After approximately 21 miles the M54 becomes the A5. Stay on the A5 passing Shrewsbury and when you reach Oswestry turn right at the roundabout (An ESSO Service Station will be on your left), staying on the A5. At the junction of the A5 and the A483 (An McDonalds Drive Through will be on your right) go straight on at the roundabout to join the A483 signposted Wrexham. After approximately 8 miles leave the A483 at the junction of the A541 signposted Wrexham and Mold. At the roundabout turn right towards Wrexham and the ground is ahead of you on your left.

Car Parking: NEWI College just before the ground and a local car park just before the Shell Garage on the opposite side of the road and both cost around £2.00. Free parking is available on the two retail parks by turning left or right at the second roundabout but do not park in ALDI or you will get clamped!

By Train: Wrexham General is next to the ground and there is a service every two hours between Chester and Shrewsbury. There is also an hourly service between Wrexham and Liverpool. Click here for the Rail Track Online Timetable or call national enquiries on 08457 484950.

By Bus: Wrexham Bus Station is only a five minute walk from the ground but if you want to catch a bus to the ground then use a number 11, 18a or 21 bus. If you prefer to walk then turn left out of the bus station and turn right at to the end of this road. Then walk through to set of lights and the ground will be ahead of you just past Wrexham General Train Station. For enquiries call 01978 363760.

Match Build Up

Team News

Wrexham Kidderminster Harriers
Injuries: Loads! In goal Andy Dibble has still not recovered and Paul Whitfield was sent home after feeling ill. Dennis Lawrence will again have a fitness test before the game on his toe and Shaun Pejic has been laid low with a mystery virus for the past two days. To make matters worse Brian Carey is struggling with his achiles. That's the defence covered, now onto the rest of the team! Paul Barrett is due for a hernia operation next month but will play and Jim Whitley should be OK after twisting his ankle last week. On the wing Paul Edwards has a bad back whilst Andy Morrell is suffering from a dead leg. Injuries: Scott Stamps had an operation on his abductor muscle and will be out for four months and Adie Smith will be missing for up to six weeks after microsurgery on his ankle.
Suspensions: None. Suspensions: None.
Squad (16): Whitfield, C. Edwards, Pejic, Lawrence, Roberts, P. Edwards, Whitley, Ferguson, Barrett, Morrell, Trundle, L Jones, Sam, Holmes, Morgan, Rogers. Squad (19): Brock, Danby, Joy, Melligan, Ayres, Hinton, Williams, Coleman, Parrish, Flynn, Bennett, Shilton, Ducros, Doyle, Foster, Broughton, Bishop, Henriksen, Khela.
Other News: At the moment Denis Smith only has two fit defenders in Steve Roberts and scholar Craig Morgan, as Dan Bennett is way on international duty. Hopefully Dennis Lawrence will be OK to play and Morgan will only get a game if Shaun Pejic is ruled out. Paul Whitfield will play if he is not struck down through illness otherwise Kristian Rogers will make his first start of the season in goal. Darren Ferguson will return to the centre of midfield and Steve Thomas will drop to the bench unless Jim Whitley or Paul Barrett drop out although both are expected to be fit. Carlos Edwards will be on the right wing and Shaun Holmes will play on the left if Paul Edwards is ruled out. Up front will be Lee Trundle and he will be partnered by Andy Morrell if he shakes off a dead leg, otherwise Lee Jones will get the nod ahead of Hector Sam. Other News: Danny Williams is not guaranteed to return to the side to play against his former club after serving a one game suspension. Striker Drewe Broughton received his second red card of the season last week and this angered manager Ian Britton. That could mean Bo Henriksen partnering Andrew Bishop up front. The other options open to Britton is to revert to a 4-4-2 and that could mean Danny Williams getting a start as a central defender after Harriers have conceded ten goals in the last five games to drop out of the play off spots in recent weeks.
