Travel Guide

Directions from Wrexham: Leave Wrexham on the A483 towards Chester turning right onto the A55 and then onto the M53. Leave the M53 at junction 11 joining the M56 eastbound towards Warrington. Leave the M56 at junction at junction 9 joining the M6 southbound towards Newcastle-under-Lyme. Leave the M6 at junction 19 turning right onto the A556 towards Northwich. After just under a mile turn left onto the A5033. After two miles turn right at the roundabout onto the A50. After half a mile, when in Knutsford, turn left at the roundabout onto the A537 heading towards Macclesfield. Continue on the A537 for 11.5 miles into Macclesfield where you turn left at the roundabout (the one after the Fire Station) continuing on the A537 and follow signs for the town centre. Continue down Cumberland Street, until you go down a large hill to a roundabout where you turn right onto the A523. This is initially called Leek Road but then becomes London Road (signposted Leek). The ground will be on your right after 1.5 miles. If you do get lost the ground is signposted from the town centre but in doubt follow signs for the A523 Leek. The journey should take around one hour and a quarter but allow additional time as it is a Bank Holiday weekend.
Car Parking: There is plenty of street parking around the ground with the majority in the Industrial Estate behind the new Alfred MacAlpine Stand but remember the street name where you parked your car! To avoid street parking you can continue half a mile past the ground where there is a Retail Park. The only other alternative is in the town centre but this will mean a 40 minute walk.
By Train: Nearest Train Station is Macclesfield. One of the advantages of arriving by train is that there at four pubs in the vicinity of the station. There is 108s, the Old Millstone, the Nags Head, or the Queens Hotel. The ground is a 45 minute walk from the ground but if you do want to walk then turn left out of the station to the main set of traffic lights. Then turn left down Mill Lane/London Road towards the ground. Your best bet is to catch a bus from the town centre bus station (see below). Bus Station: Either a 9,14, 16 or 21 will take you past the ground. Telephone 01625 348508 for enquiries.
Beer: If you arrive by train then there are four pubs near the station and you will not have a problem finding a decent pint (see above for details). Remember it is a 40 minute walk to the ground so keep track of the time! There are a few pubs in the vicinity of the ground if you travelled by car and they all welcome away supporters. The nearest to the ground was the Silkman but this has now closed. If you walk for two minutes down London Road heading away from Macclesfield you will come across the Star Inn with the only problem being that it is very small. Another alternative is the Flower Pot and if it is a hot day you are in look as it has a garden. It is only a ten minute walk from the ground and to find it walk to the end of Moss Lane and turn right. Apart from these there is a good selection of pubs in the town centre where a taxi ride should cost no more that £2.50.
Grub: The advantage of the town centre is that there a plenty of outlets to get a bite to eat as the only option outside the ground is Bonds the Bakers who do extremely tasty fresh pies. On our last visit the burgers inside the ground are worth sampling.
Cash Machines: The nearest machine is at the Co-op Late Shop on London Road in the vicinity of the ground.

General: Thankfully the ridiculously out of placed tent stands have been replaced with a new £1.3m Alfred McAlpine Stand and there are plans to redevelop the away end. Sadly this has not been completed and The Silkman Terrace is still exposed to the elements with no roof and just pray that it is going to be a dry sunny day. 403 seats are provided in the new Alfred McAlpine Stand and there are 1,530 spaces available on the Silkman Terrace for away supporters.
Ticket Office: 01625 264686.
Alfred McAlpine Stand: Adults £14.00 Under 16s and OAPs £9.00
The Silkman TerreaceAdults £10.00 Under 16s and OAPs £6.00
