Team News |
|
Wrexham | Rochdale |
Injuries: Wrexham are still without the services of Paul Barrett and Lee Jones and Craig Morgan has been added to teh casualty list. Waynne Phillips and Brian Carey are still long term. | Injuries: Patrick McCourt, Lee Hodges and Kieron Durkan have all been ruled out with injury whilst Chris Beech is doubtful. |
Suspensions: None. | Suspensions: None. |
Squad (18): Dibble, Lawrence, Pejic, Roberts, Edwards, Holmes, Whitley, Ferguson, Thomas, Morrell, Trundle, Rogers, Bennett, Edwards, Sam, Evans, Campbell, Whitfield. | Squad (16): Edwards, Griffiths, Macauley, Doughty, Flitcroft, Oliver, Duffy, Simpson, McEvilly, Platt, Gilks, Townsend, Jobson, Connor, Warner. |
Other News: Hector Sam has given Denis Smith a selection headache after scoring his second goal as substitute on the weekend and that is the only decision smith has to make. Although Sam replaced Andy Morrell he has also put in good displays and will most likely partner Lee Trundle up front. Else where it will be unchanged with Andy Dibble in goal and in front of him will be Shaun Pejic, Steve Roberts and Dennis Lawrence. Darren Ferguson, Steve Thomas and Jim Whitley will be in midfield with Carlos Edwards and Shaun Holmes as wingbacks. | Other News: With four players ruled out through injury Paul Simpson options are limited and it will be surprising if he does not go with the team that started against Darlington on Saturday. His only option will be if summer signing Chris Beech recovers from his calf strain and that will mean him making his debut.. |
Quotes | |
Wrexham | Rochdale |
Denis Smith: "We have given ourselves a big lift up the league table and while it might have little bearing on the final say about who gets promoted, it's certainly nice to be right up there. Now we have won our first away game of the season, we have to make sure we back it up with a victory at home. There is likely to be a good crowd at the Racecourse, so we want to make sure they enjoy themselves and will be back for more. It won't be easy at all." | Paul Simpson: "Wrexham is a difficult place to go and get three points and in fact there is no such thing as an easy place to go to in this division, it will be a tough game for us. The preparation started straight after the game on Saturday and we have asked the players to do the right things between then and now, and be professional. If we come out of the Wrexham game with three points then this will have been a good Bank Holiday weekend for us." |
