Press Conference Quotes |
Denis Smith: "After Saturday, it was always going to be a difficult game for the lads, but to perform in the manner they did was a credit to them. Following the sending off and penalty, we did tend to be a bit casual – which is not surprising. To be fair to Orient, they had a good go at us. I think the first three or four efforts of the game came from Lee Trundle. For him and everyone it was about character. Could they raise themselves after their hard games of late and also achieving promotion on Saturday? To their credit they did." [Source: Wrexham AFC] |
Paul Brush: "I thought it was a really gritty determined performance and I'm really proud of the way we battled. We went for it from halfway through the second half with four forwards on the pitch only having ten men against a very, very good side. Denis Smith said some nice things about the way we played and he also told me some not to talk about the referee and get myself in to trouble. Justin Miller says he never touched him and even if it was a penalty, nine times out of ten it's a penalty and that's it - but he ruined the game. I knew who the referee was before the game so the question of whether he would have shown common sense is irrelevant. We'll look at the video and see if it's worth appealing - whether it was a goalscoring opportunity or not is open to interpretation. We were well in the game and it never occurred to me we would be down to ten men. We tried to keep two men up front and everyone dug in, chased and put in total effort. When you look at what we've got on the pitch - so many teenagers and youngsters - against the most potent strike force in the division, we've done very well. Overall I'm really pleased, it would have been brilliant to nick a point and that level of commitment doesn't leave me down-hearted at all." [Source: Leyton Orient FC] |
