MATCH BUILDUP
TEAM NEWS
Wrexham Tranmere Rovers
Injuries: Hector Sam is out after picking up a hamstring injury whilst on international duty and is joined on the sidelines by Andy Dibble (broken arm), Shaun Pejic (calf), Craig Morgan (knee), Jim Whitley (hamstring) and Lee Jones (hamstring). Brian Carey will also face a fitness test before the match on his foot injury. Injuries: Gareth Roberts is the only injury doubt after picking up a slight knock playing for Wales in Hungary on Wednesday.
Suspensions: None. Suspensions: None.
Squad (18): Ingham, Whitfield, Carey, Lawrence, Roberts, Spender, McNulty, C Edwards, P Edwards, Holmes, Thomas, Crowell, Ferguson, Barrett, Mackin, M Jones, Llewellyn, Armstrong. Squad (19): Achterberg, Sharps, Loran, Allen, Goodison, Mellon, Harrison, Beresford, Hall, Dadi, Jones, Hume, Howarth, Nicholson, Hay, Navarro, Connelly, Taylor, Roberts.
Other News: Denis Smith will be waiting on the news of Brian Carey's fitness as this will determine the starting eleven although he has little options in reserve with Whitley, Pejic and Morgan out injured. The good news is that Dennis Lawrence and Carlos Edwards are fit to play after representing Trinidad in midweek. Mike Ingham continues in goal behind a back three of Steve Roberts, Dennis Lawrence and Brian Carey or Simon Spender. The midfield three will be Paul Barrett, Darren Ferguson and Steve Thomas with Carlos and Paul Edwards providing the width for Chris Armstrong and Chris Llewellyn. Other News: Brian Little's squad has been boosted with the news that Sean Connelly, Ryan Taylor and Gareth Roberts are back following suspension although there is a slight injury doubt with Roberts. Following the 4-1 win over Notts County it will be surprising if there are any changes to the starting eleven but Ian Hume may get a starting place with Ian Goodison returning form international duty with Jamaica this morning.
