TRAVEL GUIDE

Directions from Wrexham: Leave Wrexham on the A485 towards Chester heading onto the A55 and then the M53. Leave the M53 at junction 11 turning onto the M56 eastbound towards Warrington. Continue past the M6 interchange towards Manchester. After clearing Manchester Airport you will need to start taking the left hand lane to filter off at junction 3 to join the M60 anti clockwise at junction 1. Leave the M60 at junction 2 (the next junction) taking the second exit at the roundabout turning left onto the A560. Turn right at the traffic lights onto the B5465 (landmark Farms Arms) and at the roundabout straight on continuing on the B5465. With Stockport County FC now signposted turn left at the traffic lights continuing towards Stockport town centre and after just under a mile the ground will be on your right. (Distance = 52 miles, Time = 1 hour.)

Car Parking: The parking at the ground is for permit holders only and the local side streets have residential parking schemes. There are two large public car parks at each end of the Castle Street shopping precinct and these are under a five walk from the ground.
By Train: Stockport station is only a five minute walk from the ground and is served by trains direct from Chester. Turn left out of the station (away from the ticket office) and proceed up the hill and then turn left and then the third road into Mercian Way off the roundabout. The ground will shortly appear on your left down Caroline Way.

Away Travel Club: Coaches depart from the Racecourse at 18:00 and cost £6.00 Contact the Club Shop on 01978 366388 to book your seat.
By Bus: Buses mainly run along the A6 to Edgeley park. The best one to take is number 192 as it runs every five minutes. Get off at Greek Street and it is a short walk to the ground from here.
Places to Drink: There are 13 pubs all within a 15 minute walk from the ground so you are not spoilt for choice! They are all located near the Castle Street shopping complex and away fans are welcome in the Sir Robert Peel although it is bets to avoid the John Jo Greens. Other pubs on Castle Street include the Royal Oak, Prince Albert, The Pineapple, Rafferties Irish Bar, The Jolly Crofter and The Grapes. The Armoury at the top of Castle Street also welcomes away fans. If heading from the station you will pass the Bluebell, Church Inn and the Greyhound. if drinking in the town look for a pub that sells the local brew - Robinsons Beer.
Places to Eat: Again all located near Castle Street you will find a wide range of outlets including a chippy, pizza shop, bakery, Italian, Indian and Chinese. All are only 5-10 minutes away from the ground.
Cash Machines: On Castle Street you will find a Barclays and Lloyds machines.

TICKET AND GROUND INFO

Away fans have been allocated the Vernon Building Society Stand at reduced prices of £10.00 for Adults, £2.00 concessions.
General: Whilst in Division 1 Stockport were forced to put seating on the Railway Stand but at the same time they did not take the opportunity to erect a roof. Therefore just pray it doesn't rain on the night! Away fans have also used the Vernon Building Society Stand if demand requires it. If you are into aeroplanes then this is the ground for you as it runs directly under the Manchester Airport flight path.

Disabled Facilities: There are 20 shared spaces for supporters pitch side in the Stockport Express Stand. The cover is OK with helper spaces located behind. Admission is free or the disabled with the helper paying £10.00. There is one adapted toilet available but no specific food counters are available. There is 4 parking spaces provided for home fans and away supporters are advised to contact Stockport for availability. Stockport are likely to be without Ali Gibb and Kevin Ellison for the home game against Wrexham.

Ali Gibb is still not fully recovered from a calf injury while Ellison should be on the sidelines for about another month after fracturing his cheekbone.

Luke Beckett is out long term with a cruciate ligament injury.

In midfield Shaun Holmes will be on the left and you would expect either Matt Crowell or Steve Thomas to figure on the right as replacement for Carlos Edwards. Mark Jones will play as a support man and the strike force will be any two from Chris Llewellyn, Chris Armstrong or Hector Sam to complete the lineup.
