PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

Denis Smith: "The ball went out of the play and I asked the linesman if it was out, but a bit stronger than that. The referee has not had the best of the nights and unfortunately it is us who have paid for it." [Source: Nationwide Football]

Dario Gradi: "I thought it was a decent performance because we stuck at it. We have certainly played better than this but we were relentless in the end. By half time I believe we were in control of the game and in control of the midfield. This is only the second time we've ever played 4-4-2 against 3 at the back, and the first time at Crystal Palace was a disaster because we were 3-0 down by half time. So it was pleasing to see that we didn't have to alter our shape because of them, and that's really because our flank players have got some brains and are able to defend. We've also got some good legs in the middle of the park with Justin (Cochrane). We won the battle in the midfield and kept winning possession. Justin reacted very well to getting booked so early on. The referee booked two guys in the first ten minutes and then starting appealing for calm. I said to Denis (Smith) that I didn't think anyone needed calming down. The worst tackle on Ben Rix he didn't book anyone, but I think he created his own problems in the end." [Source: Crewe Alexandra FC - fro more click here]
