TRAVEL GUIDE

Directions from Wrexham: Leave Wrexham north on the A483 then A55, M53 leaving at junction 11 branching left to join the M56 eastbound towards Warrington. At junction 9 leave the M56 turning left onto the M6 northbound. Almost immediately you will hit the road works on the Thelwall Viaduct and after keeping to the speed limit of 40 mph (due to the new style speed cameras that average out your speed) take left hand lanes to leave the M6 at junction 21A to pick up the M62 eastbound towards Manchester. At junction 12 of the M62 take left hand lanes to join the M60 clockwise following signs for Leeds. Approaching junction 15 of the M60 take right hand lanes to continue on the M60 and at junction 18 the M60 becomes the M62 again. Leave the M62 at junction 35 branch left to join the M18 and at junction 5 of the M18 take left hand lanes and then first exit at the roundabout to join the M180. At junction 3 of the M180 take right hand lanes to continue of the M180 until junction 5 where the motorway ends and becomes the A180. At the roundabout take the third exit signposted Town centre and Cleethorpes and in about half a mile take the second exit at the roundabout continuing of the A180. From here it is a matter of going straight on at roundabouts and traffic lights and after passing the junction with the A16 the ground will be on your left off the A180 just behind the McDonalds. Distance = 170 miles, Time = 3 hours.

Car Parking: There is no car park at the ground and the only alternative is street parking. Head past Blundell park towards Cleethorpes and park in one of the side streets.
By Train: Cleethorpes station is near to Blundell Park than Grimsby so you are better off using that as your destination. It is still a 15-20 minute walk to the ground and on leaving the station head back along the coast road and the floodlights will appear in the distance. If you want to use public transport then look out for buses 3F, 8X or 9X running from the sea front.

Away Travel Club: Coaches depart the Racecourse at 10:30 costing £15.00
By Bus: Buses 3F, 8X or 9X all run along the sea front towards Blundell Park from Cleethorpes. Contact the Club Shop on 01978 366388 to book your seat.
Places to Drink: The unofficial away pub is the Leaking Boat which is halfway between Blundell Park and Cleethorpes located 400 yards after the ground off the A180 and the pub has a large car park and lets in children. Other pubs that have come recommended are the Blundell park Hotel which serves good food at reasonable prices for the early visitor. Before you reach Blundell Park is the Rutland Arms and is a place to mingle with home fans but it is a good distance from the ground. To find it turn left at the Ramsdens superstore and left again and the pub is at the opposite end of the car park. please note that it odes not allow in children. The Imperial Pub by the ground is not recommended fro away fans. The official site has been plugging Scotties Bar in the Osmand (Visitors) Stand. It serves hot food and comes equipped with TV etc. but I have found no independent reports to verify the quality.
Places to Eat: The obvious is the McDonalds by the ground but the fish and chips in Cleethorpes are legendary and there are a few outlets where to sample them. Josh's fish and chip shop is located near the Leaking Boat and comes recommended.
Cash Machines: A Halifax is at Jacksons on Grimsby Road is just over a quarter of a mile away.

MATCH BUILDUP
TEAM NEWS

Grimsby Town

Wrexham
Injuries: Stuart Campbell is out with a knee injury and there are doubts over Darren Barnard who has a calf strain. Stacey Coldicott remains a long term absentee. Injuries: Hector Sam is unlikely to travel after receiving nine stitches in a gashed shin but Craig Morgan has appeared to have shrugged off the illness that forced him off at half time on Saturday. Lee Jones and Shaun Pejic are missing with hamstring injuries.
Suspensions: Tony Crane serves the last of a three game ban.. Suspensions: None.
Squad (18):  Davison, McDermott, Barnard, Young, Ford, Edwards, Jevons, Crowe, Daws, Anderson, Mansaram, Boulding, Onuora, Groves, Hockless, Hamilton, Soames, Ward. Squad (17): Dibble, Whitfield, Roberts, Carey, Lawrence, Morgan, C Edwards, P Edwards, Holmes, Ferguson, Whitley, Barrett, Thomas, Crowell, Llewellyn, Armstrong, M Jones.
Other News: Striker Michael Boulding has returned to training following a hamstring injury and is contention to start against Wrexham. Following the departure of Adam Poulton last week for £30,000 - much to the anger of Mariners fans - Rotherham midfielder Nicky Daws was brought in on loan as a replacement and was substituted during the 5-1 defeat at Port Vale on the weekend. A late fitness test is required on Darren Barnard and team selection will be left late because of this. Other News: Denis Smith has already said that Chris Armstrong will start in the absence of Hector Sam and that will mean Chris Llewellyn will get a reprieve as there are no other options up front for Smith. The other likely change will come in midfield after Jim Whitely improved Wrexham's display after replacing Paul Barrett at half time on the weekend. He is expected to partner Darren Ferguson and Steve Thomas in midfield with Carlos Edwards and Paul Edwards providing the width. Denis Smith may stick with the same three of Craig Moran, Brian Carey and Dennis Lawrence after Morgan recovered from his illness but Steve Roberts is pushing for a place in the defence. Andy Dibble takes the final position between the sticks.
Referee Weather
Not yet published on the Football League's web site. Have they got one! Light rain with a minimum temperature of 8 degrees Celsius. Westerly wind direction with max speed of 2 mph. Visibility will be poor with a relative humidity of 85%.
