MATCH BUILDUP
TEAM NEWS
Wrexham Blackpool
Injuries: Lee Jones limped out of training last week with a torn hamstring and he misses out along with Chris Armstrong who has a twisted knee. Denis Smith has reported no concerns from the Boxing Day win at Stockport. Injuries: Keith Southern has undergone an operation and will be out until the end of January, whilst fellow midfielder Richie Wellens remains doubtful following a knock on Boxing Day. On loan defender Steve Elliott missed the Boxing Day match and still remains a doubt.
Suspensions: None. Suspensions: Matthew Blinkhorn completes a three match ban.
Squad (18): Dibble, Whitfield, Pejic, Carey, Lawrence, Roberts, Morgan, C Edwards, P Edwards, Holmes, Ferguson, Whitley, Barrett, Thomas, Crowell, Llewellyn, Sam, M Jones. Last starting 11: Jones, Richardson, Flynn, Davis, Evans, Bullock, Wellens, Coid, Johnson, Taylor, Murphy. Subs: Barnes, Grayson, Sheron, McMahon, Burns.
Other News: Denis Smith has a selection headache for once in midfield with captain Darren Ferguson available after suspension. Match winner Paul Barrett, Jim Whitley and Steve Thomas have all played well in Ferguson's absence and it will be difficult to drop any of these three. Elsewhere it remains unchanged with Andy Dibble in goal with a back three of Shaun Pejic, Brian Carey and Dennis Lawrence. Carlos Edwards and Paul Edwards will provide the width for the front two of Hector Sam and Chris Llewellyn. Other News: Steve McMahon welcomed John Murphy back to the starting eleven on Boxing Day and he repaid his manager's faith with the opening goal in the 2-1 win over Tranmere. Leam Richardson and Danny Coid also returned for this game and are expected to feature again at the Racecourse. With the exception of Richie Wellens do not be surprised if Blackpool name an unchanged team with possibly the manager's son, Stephen, taking the final place.
