TRAVEL GUIDE

Directions from Wrexham: Follow the A483, A55, M53 onto the M56 eastbound towards Warrington. Leave the M56 at junction 9 taking the M6 Northbound until junction 21a where you join the M62 eastbound towards Manchester. At Manchester the M62 becomes the M60 and follow signs for west Yorkshire when the M60 reverts back to the M62. Leave the M62 at junction 29 joining the M1 northbound towards Leeds. Continue on the M1 until it ends and then take the A1(M). At junction 49 of the A1(M) head north-east on the A168 and then continue on the A19. After passing two sets of lights go over the roundabout with the Owton Lodge Pub on your right and go straight through two sets of traffic lights - the second having two petrol stations on either side just before the lights. Go straight through the next roundabout (second exit) with Shell on your left and at the next roundabout again take the second exit - Tesco will be on your right approaching this roundabout with a McDonalds just after it. After passing the Fire Station take the second exit at the next roundabout and straight through the next set of lights and Victoria Park will be ahead of you. Car Parking: You can park at the ground where there is a large car park behind the Mill House Stand. Alternatively there is street parking around Raby Road or there are plenty of free parking at Jackson's Wharf on the Marina Complex. Avoid ASDA as they enforce a clamping policy. Last season the official site advised you to keep valuables out of sight!
By Train: From Hartlepool station it is a half a mile walk to Victoria Park. Turn right out of the station onto Church Street and follow this road and the floodlights will come into view. Cross the main A179 road and bear right onto Clarence Road and head towards the ground.

By Bus: Busses stop in Church square - pick up the train directions above. If you want to catch a bus to the ground then look for buses heading towards the Marina.
Places to Drink: At the corner of the Mill House and Rink End stands is the official supporters club - called the Corner flag. Admission is 50p and the pore match atmosphere is good. Near the entrance to the away end if the Victoria Suite but this is for members only. You will find a selection of bars at the Marina development with the Jackson Wharf pub popular with away fans. Located opposite the ASDA to the left of the old sailing ship, it serves real ale and has good food as well as SKY TV. There are plenty of options in the town centre as well.
Places to Eat: The meat and potato pies in the ground are good value and will most likely be the biggest pies you will see at a football ground. Elsewhere there are a variety of restaurants and fast food outlets located on the marina.
Cash Machines: You will find a Abbey National, Nat West and Barclays at ASDA on the marina.

Andy Dibble continues to defy his age in goal and front of him will be the usual back three of Shaun Pejic,  Brian Carey and Dennis Lawrence. The midfield has reverted back back to a three with Steve Thomas playing against his home town club along with Jim Whitley and Darren Ferguson.
