TRAVEL GUIDE

Directions from Wrexham: Leave Wrexham on the A483 towards Chester turning right onto the A55 eastbound. At the end of the A55 continue on the M53 until you reach junction 4. Leave here and turn right at the roundabout taking the fourth exit onto the B151 Mount Road. After 2.5 miles this becomes Storeton Road and there is a speed camera on this road just after the Travellers Rest Pub. Continue on this road until you reach a set of mini roundabouts. Here you will want to take the third exit turning right onto Thornton Road (straight over the first and second exit at the second) and at the end of this road turn left onto Borough Road. To get to Prenton Park just follow this road but only do this on foot after you have parked your car (see below). Total Distance = 30.8 miles, Time = 40 minutes.

Car Parking: The official car park at the ground costs £4.00 and fills up quickly as does Technical College on Birkenhead side of Borough Road. I have previously parked on the side roads off Thornton Road and Borough road but be careful of residential parking schemes as the local traffic wardens are always out on patrol on matchdays. In general you are looking at a ten minute walk to the ground.
By Train: From Rock Ferry station it is a 15 minute walk to Prenton Park. Turn right out of the station onto Bedford Road and continue along Bedford Avenue and then Bedford Drive. When you reach the junction with Prenton High School, cross this road into Mount Road and turn right at the next set of lights onto Borough Road. The ground is now a five minute walk down here on your left. Alternatively jump on a 42 bus from the station to Prenton Park.

TICKET AND GROUND INFO

General: Like on our last visit to Prenton Park away fans are located in the Cowshed end. The stand has unobstructed views and has modern facilities including a bar but it is questionable if the police will allow this to be open especially as the game has been moved to a midday kick off. The unusual aspect about this stand is that it has more rows at one end than the other which appears to give it a sloping effect.
Ticket Office: Tickets can be purchased from the Racecourse prior to the game to reserve a central seat but on our last visit it was a case of just sitting anywhere
Seats: Adults £16.00, Senior Citizens £8.50, Juniors £4.00.
Standing: None.
Disabled Facilities: There are 36 wheelchair spaces with 8 reserved for away fans at the Kop End of the Main Stand. There are 9 parking spaces allocated for home supporters with away fans having to pay. Access to the ground is level but involves a steep ramp. Facility wise there are 2 adapted toilets at a top of a ramp as is access to the refreshments areas but these do not have specific counters.
Programme and Fanzines: Programme £2.50, Fanzine "GUAR" £1.00.
