Denis Smith: "It was a good game of football, spoilt by an official unfortunately, and it's cost us two points as well - which was even more frustrating. He's allowed them to take a quick free-kick while still talking to one of my players, so we were out of position. To allow the kick to be taken while talking to one of the players is not right. As for my sending off, all I did was throw an empty water bottle onto the ground. He said I could have hurt somebody - so that just about sums it up. We've come and set out our stall. We want to keep the ball, ok they can have it deep if they want it because they just knocked it into our centre-backs and we just lapped it up. We were hitting them on the break and that's how we scored our goal. I couldn't see them scoring even though we had problems with Dennis going off, but Morgs has come on and Pej has had another good game. The performance from the players was good. Chrissie Armstrong tells me he said nothing, so he's been sent off for having a ball thrown in his face, and that's also frustrating. We were comfortable and only got done when we had players out of position at that fee-kick - and that does make you cross! I came for three points and I thought we should have had three points - so it's disappointing to only come away with one." [Source: Wrexham AFC]

Brian Little: "If you'd asked me at half time whether I'd take one point have I'd have said yes but at the end of 90 minutes I'm disappointed. We had two or three good chances to win the game and probably should have won the game in the second half. The referee allowed both teams to take quick free kicks which caused a little bit of trouble. They scored from one and we did. It wasn't a great game but in the end we got to grips with it. Playing them man for man in the second half we possibly should have won. You can't get your message across if you change your system around 15 minutes into the second half so I decided to do it at half time and could have taken Ryan or Paul off to make the system work. Chris Dagnall had a couple of great chances and the keeper pulled off a great save from Mark Rankine so we should have won an awkward game, but we've not lost and that's the most important thing. I was pleased with the goal. Ranks spotted an opportunity, it ended up at Gareth's feet, he's swung at it and it's gone in the bottom corner.

on the red cards: "I genuinely felt that they tried to stop us taking a quick throw in. From my point of view I didn't see any violence there so I was really surprised when he was sent off. We'll have a look at the video and see whether it's worth asking the referee to have a look at it."
on Denis Smith's red card: "It's an emotional game, sometimes you pick something up and chuck it around in anger. I don't think there was a major problem so I'm a bit disappointed for him." [Source: Tranmere Rovers FC]
