PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

Denis Smith: "The supporters who didn't turn up tonight, I think I should have joined them because we were awful. I think that is the best way of describing it because, apart from Mark Jones, the rest of them were a shambles. After the way we have played of late, I'm extremely disappointed. We were very fortunate to get something out of the game. We got done by a set play on Saturday and two more tonight, which is basic organisation. Its things we should have been doing in training but we haven't been able to. That's frustrating because you think 'we can stop that'. Ben's come for the second one when he shouldn't have done. I tell my keepers not to come for those but he hasn't been here long enough and we haven't been able to work on these things. We haven't been able to work on the set plays long enough for him to know that it is somebody else's job, but I give him credit for taking responsibility which a lot of the other didn't." Phil Parkinson: "John (White) was superb. We asked him to come in and do a man marking job on Darren Ferguson and he rarely got a kick in the game. John's decision making is so good. He's good defensively and when there's a ball to put in behind, he'll put it in behind and if you need to keep it simple, he'll keep it simple. What's more, he doesn't make many mistakes in possession or out of it, and I think he's going to be a very, very good player. It wasnt the fact he (Foster) took Neil down, but more that as Dannsy was getting up to stroke the ball into the net, he was holding onto his leg to stop him doing that. In my time as manager, that's the most ridiculous decision I've seen." [Source: Colchester United FC]
Wayne Brown: “Although I am delighted to have scored my first goal for the club, personally I'm very disappointed with Wrexham's equaliser. It was a good header from their lad (Sam) but I should have done better. I just hope that we don't live to regret those lost points at the end of the season. My goal was a scrappy one. Greg (Halford) and Neil (Danns) both had efforts blocked, and I was just in the right place to head home. I thought that our 4-5-1 formation worked well. We created far more chances than we had managed in previous games. From Nos. 1 to 11 we were very poor against Bristol City on Saturday. The manager wanted a response, and I think that he got one. Dean (Gerken) is a young lad and he will not let the disappointment of Wrexham's first goal from going to his head. It was just one of those things,” added former Ipswich defender Brown." YOUR VIEW

morrell34: "We were lucky to get a point last night. It wasn't a pretty performance and at one stage we should have held on for 3 points. Mark Jones must now be a serious contender for player of the year. He makes all the right runs, is able to turn his man, and has vision far superior to his midfield team mates, who were woefully poor tonight. He was carrying the tam last night. Can't fault some of the lads for effort. Some of them went and played still feeling ill last night. Hector, despite what many critics say, proved he still has value in the squad. He rescued a point today and almost did the same on Saturday."

Aidan: "Foster was definitely at fault for the 2nd goal, and could have caused another in the first half, However he was one of the better players on the night (Mark Jones, Morgan and Sam the others who can be excused) the rest were V poor really."
tomeden: "Another inept display from our lot!! Only two people trying; M Jones & Foster."
SE19: "Denis slates Foster in his comments for coming for the second when he shouldn't have. He made some handy saves. Think he's wrong on that one, there are nine other players to get stuck into, leave the lad alone - it's only his performances that have meant this week's results counted for something!"
Welsh Wizzard: "What has Hector got to do to start a game? I know we have this theory about him doing better when he comes on but when was the last time either Llew or Armstrong looked like scoring? OK he is not the best finisher in the world and will probably continue to miss his fair share but he creates for himself, something which I'm afraid the other two don't! I'd rather have someone who takes 20-30% of his chances than others who take zero from zero."
