Go straight on at the roundabout with the A41 and at the junction with A49 turn right and then immediately left back onto the A534 towards Nantwich. After 5.4 miles pick up the A51 and after further 1.4 miles pick up the A500 towards Nantwhich. Continue on the A500 passing under the M6 towards Stoke. Leave the A500 turning left onto the A50 towards Utoxeter (you will pass Stoke's Britannia stadium on your right almost immediately). Continue on the A50 for just over 21 miles where you take the A516 at the roundabout with the A50. Then pick up the A50 again following signs to Derby and then pick up the A6 until you will shortly come to junction 24 of the M1. At the roundabout with the M1 follow the A453 towards Nottingham until you reach the traffic lights with the A52. From here go straight on taking the B679 and follow signs for West Bridgeford. Places to Drink: A trip to Nottingham cannot be made without a few jars in the Hooters Bar on Great Northern Close in London Road. As well as the obvious attractions the beer and grub is also good. To be honest there are two many places too mention. Recommended is the Globe that has recently been refurbished located on the London Road just across from the hump back bridge over the canal. It is an open plan pub that serves good food and as a selection of around 5 real ales on tap. On the other side of Trent Bridge is the Southbank that also serves real ale, including one from the local Mallards Brewery, as well as serving excellent food and having numerous TV screens. If travelling by train then just across from the front of the station is the Vat and Fiddle. Located down Queensbridge next to the Castle Rock micro brewery it offers real ale and hot and cold food. Closer to the ground further down Meadow Lane is the Magpies Pub. Named after the club its has real ale and decent grub at decent prices and also has parking spaces if you get there early. Finally, there is the Trent Navigation and Trent Bridge Inn located nearby and the Navigation has parking spaces at a cost of £1.50.
Places to Eat: Just read the pub guide above and you wont go too far wrong.
Cash Machines: Bank of Scotland at the services on London Road and a Nat West Machine at Nottingham Forest's City ground.
