PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

Denis Smith: "It's disappointing not to get the win after getting in the situation we were in. Normally you would expect us at 2-0 up not to let goals in but whether the first one was over the line or not is open to debate but the referee and the linesman seemed pretty sure. It was disappointing not to go in at half-time 2-0. If we had gone in at half-time 2-0 up then that would possibly have been game over but they are a hard team to score two goals against. I think it would be unfair to say that they didn't deserve something out of the game because I thought that they came back well. They are a big club. If you look at what comes off the bench you realise that they are a club who would possibly be close to being champions in this league. But we have played them twice already this season and they have failed to beat us so that's pleasing for us. The kids who played for me today have been super but I think I could go from one to eleven and say that everybody's done their utmost for the club today. Football is emotional and obviously with what's gone on over the last few weeks but has come to a head this week it made it more important for us to put a good performance in as we were under the spotlight and I think especially in the first-half we did. I think that we are a good team to watch. I think that we do play good football and we are attractive to watch and I would like people to turn up more often but you can't force people too do anything. I think that his club has got a good future, a big future. Somebody somewhere will come along and realise that they don't have to put that much money in to make a profit and get a lot of enjoyment out of it. You want to just get on with the football and we haven't done anything on set plays over the last couple of days which we normally would be doing. It's just been keeping the lads heads up, keeping them bubbling, making sure that it's entertaining and I think that they have gone out there and proved that they are a good footballing side." Hull City: "Probably how our season's been going to be honest. We conceded two poor goals in the first half, carried on believing that we could get it back - and played some tremendous stuff in the second half. We've got to stop giving goals away to keep the good run going. Darren Ferguson is a very, very good player so you don't need to give him space for him to be a dangerous player---It was disappointing, very disappointing but as I say, I can't praise the boys enough for the way that they've come back--- It takes a good team to come back and we came back and we should have won it."
