Dragons misfire at Lincoln
By: TEAMtalk
Wrexham's three match unbeaten run ended with a 2-0 defeat at Lincoln as
Nat Brown and Dean Keates struck for the Imps.
Lincoln looked second best early on as the Dragons created a number of
chances, with Mark Jones picking out Robbie Foy with a clever pass for
the best of them only for the striker to lose control as the ball ran
away from him.
Wrexham's Jon Walters then got in front of his marker but saw his header
saved by Lincoln goalkeeper Alan Marriott and it was the hosts who broke
the deadlock in the 63rd minute.
A corner from Scott Kerr was fumbled by Wrexham keeper Michael Ingham
and in the scramble that followed Nat Brown forced the ball home.
Four minutes later, Ingham produced a backward diving save to keep out a
long-range shot from Kerr, before Dean Keates smashed in a shot from 20
yards which flew inches over with Ingham rooted to his line.
Wrexham's frustration began to show with Alex Smith and Paul Warhurst
yellow-carded for fouls and Lincoln clinched the game in stoppage time
when a mistake by Warhurst let in Francis Green, who set up a tap-in for
Keates.

Match Reaction |
Denis Smith: "I can't say that this didn't hurt,
because it did, but we were beaten by the better side tonight. We were never
in the game and as good as we were Saturday, we were poor tonight. Fair play
to them, they worked hard and once their got their goal, their tails were
up." [Source:
