The Chairboys

Nathan Tyson: Player of the Month
Wycombe have made a positive start to the season and currently sit two points and a place off league leaders Grimsby following the weekends 3-2 win at Mansfield. Wycombe had some nervous moments after racing into a 3-0 half time lead courtesy of a Kevin Betsby hat trick but they were made to work for their victory when their hosts struck back twice in the second half.

Manager Jon Gorman was not too impressed with the second half display. "We didn't pass the ball as crisp as we did in the first half though and the standard was poor compared to what we had set," Gorman explained to the official web site.

Wycombe Wanderers have shown their ambitions for this season turning down three offers this week for the league's leading scorer Nathan Tyson who has found the back of the net on eight occasions this season. Tyson's goals have not gone unnoticed with Sheffield Wednesday the third club to have a bid turned down on Thursday for the player who was awarded the League 2 Player of the Month Award for August.

Form Guide

Wrexham: LLDWWLDD Wycombe: WDDDDWLW
Wycombe returned to winning ways on the weekend after tasting defeat for the first time this season when they exited the carling Cup to Premiership side Aston Villa. the Chairboys were leading 3-1 at half time but the Premiership side showed their class scoring seven times in the second half to run out 8-3 winners. Wycombe progressed to the second round courtesy of an impressive 3-1 victory at League 1 Swindon but this win was followed up by four successive draws in the league before they defeated Barnet by a single goal at the Causeway Stadium.

Wrexham ended a run of two successive defeats with a draw at Bury and then followed this up with two successive home victories over Barnet and Cheltenham. But Wrexham's problems lie on the road where they remain without a victory and a defeat at Lincoln was then followed by a draw at Orient. Wrexham then returned home but failed to hold on for victory for the second weekend running when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Macclesfield.

When you are there
Car Parking: The ground has limited parking but your best bet is to park in the numerous spaces on the Industrial Estate at a small price. Do not leave any valuables on show as the car parks are not secure and be prepared for a delay leaving the game as their is only one road out of the industrial estate.

Beer and Grub: As the ground is on an industrial estate in the past there has been no options at the ground but this season the club have opened an away fans bar which is a beer tent that also serves hot food. Other options is The Hour Glass on Chapel Lane but this is over a mile from the ground. The pub lets in away fans at the doorman's discretion and food is usually served although there is a chip shop a further down the road. If you are after a bite to eat then after leaving the M40 you will notice a Hungry Horse pub located off the third roundabout in the directions above.

Cash Machines: None that do not charge nearby.
