The Bees

Paul Fairclough: Good start
Barnet have made a superb start to the season by topping League Two following their promotion as Conference Champions last season. The season got even better on Tuesday night with a superb 4-2 Carling Cup victory at Bristol City, who are one of the favourites for promotion from League One. Barnet did taste defeat for the first time on Saturday when they lost by a singe goal at home to Grimsby although the Bees visit the Racecourse with a 100% away record.

Barnet's unbeaten start began with a draw at home to Bristol Rovers but three straight wins at Northampton, Carlisle and at home to Macclesfield had propelled the Bees into to top spot until Saturday's defeat to Grimsby. The majority of Barnet's goals have come from midfield with Nicky Bailey the top scorer with four goals in five starts and he is followed by Dwaine Lee and Dean Sinclair with two goals each. Last season's top scorer Giulianio Grazioli with 30 goals has found the net on one occasion with the opening goal in the 3-1 win at Carlisle.

Barnet have had a quiet summer in the transfer market with only Ross Fintley joining from Fulham whilst Shane Gore left to join Stevenage.  "The players who won the title for us are a special group. Our main priority was to try and keep them together on new contracts. We had to use nearly all the money available to do that," explained Bee's Chairman Tony Kleanthous.

Team News

Wrexham Team News: Wrexham's injury crisis depended over the weekend with strikers Lee McEvilly and Jon Walters taking knocks and Dave Bayliss has not helped matters by picking up a late red card at Bury and will therefore start a three game ban against Barnet. McEvilly and Walters are struggling with ankle and hamstring injuries respectively and late fitness test will determine if they join the lengthy injury list that already contains Jim Whitley, Matt Crowell, Dean Bennett, Shaun Pejic and Lee Roche. Michael Ingham starts in goal and the only fit defenders are Paul Linwood, Paul Warhurst and Dennis Lawrence. Andy Holt will be at left back but the right side is a problem with Simon Spender still suspended and Dean Bennett out injured with the only real option to move Warhurst from the back and play Andy Holt in defence with Alex Smith taking the wide left role. The midfield is likely to remain unchanged with Danny Williams, Mark Jones and Darren Ferguson continuing in the centre of the park. Jon Walters has a good chance of being passed fit and Liverpool's Robbie Foy is on standby to replace McEvilly if he fails his fitness test. Denis Smith also includes four scholars in the squad to boost the numbers available for selection.

Wrexham Squad (18): Ingham, Michael Jones, Linwood, Lawrence, Warhurst, Holt, Smith, Ferguson, Williams, Mark Jones, Mackin, Walters, Foy, McEvilly, Reed, Evans, Done, Harris.

Barnet Team News: Paul Fairclough's options have been boosted with Ismail Yakubu included in the squad after recovering from a groin injury but the Bees remain without Simon Clist (groin) and Jason Norville (hamstring). Paul Fairclough is unlikely to make any changes despite the first defeat of the season on Saturday with Ian Hendon expected to recover from a toe injury he picked up during the game

Officials: The match referee is Trevor Parkes from the West Midlands and he is assisted by Eddie Evans and Ian Evans with Daniel Roberts as fourth official. Trevor Parkes has refereed 4 games this season sending off no players and booking seven.
