Wrexham v

Lincoln City

Saturday 25 November 2006

Kick Off @ 15:00

The Imps

Lincoln finished October on high in top place after recording a perfect four wins in the league. This resulted in John Schofield winning the manager of the month award but the normal bad luck this brings hit the Imps this month, as they are now on a run of three straight defeats. Despite this, Lincoln remain in second position with a return of 35 points from 18 games but are now six points behind league leaders Walsall.

Lincoln have the best away record with nine wins and two defeats on their travels this season. The two defeats have come at grounds where they were expected to win with Boston and Stockport preventing a 100% record for the Imps away from home this season.

Lincoln have taken advantage of the loan transfer deadline on Thursday with three new faces joining their squad on deadline day. Veteran midfielder Shane Nicholson has rejoined the club until the New Year from League One Chesterfield whilst Matthew Birley has joined for the same length of time from Championship side Birmingham City. Defender Nicky Eden was a late addition to the squad with the defender rejoining from Nottingham Forest but striker Ryan Semple has joined Chester.

The man in charge of the Imps is John Schofield and he replaced now Posh manager Keith Alexandra during the summer. Schofield holds the title of head coach and works along side John Deehan who is Director of Football at Sincil Bank. Schofield was previously first team coach and was promoted at the same time when Deehan swapped positions to Lincoln from Northampton.

Top goal scorer for the Imps is experienced striker Jamie Forrester. He picked up the player of the month award for October, making it a double success for the Imps, and has scored 12 goals this season which includes three hat-tricks!

Both teams arrive into the game on the back of two straight league defeats although Wrexham do have an FA Cup win to their credit, where as Lincoln went out at the first hurdle to Port Vale. If you continue into the town centre McDonalds will be on your left and the next pub you reach is The Horse and Jockey and opposite that under the archway is a good chip shop. There are more pubs on High Street and to find them continue pass the Horse and Jockey, passing Burger King on your left, and High Street is the junction with Burtons.
