The
Stags were looking to be on a decent run of form with three straight wins
against Wycombe, Chester and Lincoln but since then a draw against Notts
County was followed up with two home defeats to Macclesfield and Boston.
The
three straight wins had left Mansfield with an outside chance of the play
offs but they have now dropped off the pace and currently lie in sixteenth
position after 39 games with 49 points - 10 adrift of the final play off
spot. The Stags have won four of their nineteen games away from Field Mill
this season and this has them ranked 16th overall in the away league.
The
club's top goal scorer is still Richard Barker despite the prolific striker
joining League Two leaders Hartlepool in the January transfer window for a
£80,000 fee. Barker certainly enjoyed playing against us and had scored five
goals in the our last three games against the Stags but thankfully he has
now departed.
There
is a bit of uncertainty off the field for the Stags after Chairman James
Derry confirmed that the Field Mill club has been put up for sale by Keith
Haslam. Derry was only appointed as Chairman in January but his tenure looks
to be a short one after supporters groups had even considered arranging a
match boycott. Fans had put up posters in January calling for Chief
Executive Keith Haslam, who was a former Chairman of the club, to be sacked. |
