Trust will use FA Cup clash to say thanks

WREXHAM
Supporters Trust has designated the club's FA Cup clash with Scunthorpe on
Friday as "Wrexham 4 Falmer Day".
The trust say it has been astonished at the level of support it has received
from fans of other clubs during the club's recent troubles.
Messages of support and pledges of financial help are being received by the
trust on a daily basis and the sight of fans from virtually every league club
attending the recent game with Bristol City was unforgettable, a trust spokesman
said.
Huddersfield fans held a collection for the trust before Saturday's game and
Scunthorpe fans are doing likewise on Friday night.
The trust spokesman said: "There is indeed a football family and we are very
much a part of it.
"In an effort to repay all these many acts of kindness the trust has designated
Friday's cup match "Wrexham 4 Falmer Day."
Trust board member Lindsay Jones stated: "We just wanted to put something back
in. Fans from every club have been so supportive of us and the Brighton fans in
particular have been helpful from the start.
Their future still lies in the balance as they await John Prescott's decision on
their new stadium. As Wrexham fans we are saying 'Come on John do the right
thing'."
The trust has commissioned several banners with the message "Wrexham 4 Falmer"
and are taking hundreds of blue and white balloons to the match.
The trust is encouraging travelling fans to make and take their own banners to
make this a special occasion.
Brighton have been homeless for seven years since then- chairman sold their
ground to Focus DIY.
Falmer is the only possible site for a new stadium in Brighton.
The club is currently resident at an inadequate athletics track called Withdean
that has a capacity of 6,000.
Brighton fans were the main movers in organising the Fans United day at the
recent Bristol City game.
With the club facing administration on Friday, the trust is working hard to
raise funds in the hope that eventually it will be able to buy the club and
ground.
The trust is asking everyone who supports its campaign to make a small donation
by calling 0904 043 5000.
Calls will cost £1.50, of which at least £1.07 will be donated to the appeal and
automatically billed to the caller's telephone account. Callers will hear a
short thank you message, which will be changed regularly to feature various well
known voices associated with the football club.
