Special delivery for Hamilton

04/10/04

Special delivery for HamiltonWREXHAM fans keen to save their football club paid a flying visit to Chairman Alex Hamilton's house on Saturday en route to their club's game at Doncaster.

The purpose of the visit was to deliver hundreds of letters protesting at Mr Hamilton's Chairmanship of the oldest club in Wales.

A spokesman for Dismal Jimmy said: “We gave fans the opportunity to let Mr Hamilton know what they felt about his actions. We “sold” the letter delivery on eBay and loads of fans responded. To give the delivery more visual impact we delivered each letter in a big box. Unfortunately when we got to his house the gates were locked and we had to stack them by the gate. We got a few puzzled looks from the neighbours but they understand what we are trying to achieve and are quite supportive.”

The Dismal Jimmy is totally opposed to Mr Hamilton's plans to evict Wrexham Football Club from the Racecourse next July.

Fans are planning a series of peaceful and lawful protests to highlight the club's plight and persuade Mr Hamilton to ”do the right thing”.
