A JOKER has put Wrexham FC up for sale on internet auction website eBay.

The club was put on the site on Tuesday, although so far there have been no bids.

Asking for offers in the region of between £3 million-£5 million, the seller says the item offers good nights out on Tuesdays, good days out for the whole family on Saturday afternoons, a happy cheery club with great potential and a loyal fan base.

The seller tells bidders the club needs them, or just a rich sugar daddy or mummy.

A club spokesman said: "I think it's just a bit of fun. Anything which can raise a smile with fans is welcome at the moment."

Asked if this was club owner Alex Hamilton's latest ploy to find a buyer for the club, the spokesman said: "It certainly has not been mentioned to me.

"Seriously though, the club would like to thank all the fans who attended the Stockport game. The atmosphere was fantastic and the Stockport fans did their bit with their drum and singing. Our sincere thanks go to all the fans who attended. The players and manager all commented on the backing they got from the fans."
