THE SCARLETS are definitely still heading north to play at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground next week.

Despite all of the football club's off-field problems the Scarlets, based in Llanelli, will play the first of two Celtic League matches at the Racecourse when they entertain Irish province Leinster.

So far tickets are going slowly for the game on Sunday, November 14 (5.30pm kick off) but officials from the Welsh region are confident sales will pick up.

A spokesman for the Scarlets said: "Ticket sales are going slowly for us at the moment, but we think that might have something to do with the problems at the club and the thought the game might not be on. We want to assure people the game is going ahead.

"When we played in Wrexham last season we also had a huge walk up crowd on the day and we are confident tickets will pick up yet."

Last season the Scarlets, who represent north Wales as part of their commitment to regional rugby, took on Scottish opposition and won both games.

In front of crowds of 5,060 and 5,422 the Scarlets beat the Borders 36-20 and Glasgow 36-26 en-route to the Celtic League title.
