Reds' fans could make second bid

8/11/04

Wrexham Supporters' TrustREDS’ fans have not ruled out a second bid to buy The Racecourse after their first offer was turned down by the club’s owner.

Wrexham Supporters’ Trust members will hold a meeting tonight to consider a way forward after their first bid was rejected by property developer Alex Hamilton.

Trust member Charles Wardle said: “It’s very difficult to say anything until we have the meeting tonight.

“What I can say is that nothing has been ruled out – including a second offer. Mr Hamilton has rejected our first offer so we need to sit down and discuss whether we should make a second one. Whether that happens depends on the meeting tonight.”

The trust will also hold a public meeting on Thursday night at NEWI’s William Aston Hall to update fans.

Trust member Lindsay Jones said: “A lot has been happening over the last few weeks, so we want to keep everyone up to speed on what has been going on and what we are planning next.”

The meeting starts at 7.30pm.
