Bennett: My £400k mission

09/12/04

Dave BennettWREXHAM FC director Dave Bennett says he now hopes to get involved in running the club's commercial department following the suspension of his directorship powers.

Mr Bennett and fellow director David Griffiths remain as directors but because the club went into administration on Friday, the pair have had to hand over the day to day running of the League One outfit to administrators Steve Williams and David Acland.

But Mr Bennett said he is determined to keep helping the club.

He said he has been working on a commercial plan which will generate around £400,000 for the club by the end of the season.

Mr Bennett said: "I will be meeting Steve Williams to talk about the way forward and hopefully I will be able to get involved in promoting the club and helping it grow commercially.

"There is a lot of work ahead but we remain positive. We have been working on plans to improve the commercial side of things and we would like to be able to carry them out. Of course all this depends on what the administrator says now he his taking care of the day to day running."

Mr Bennett remains upbeat and positive about the future and he again urged football fans in the area to get behind The Reds in their hour of need.
