Adrian ChilesTHE desperate plight of Wrexham FC has grabbed the attention of the nation simply because "this could happen to anyone"

Match of the Day 2 presenter Adrian Chiles is the latest television personality to chip in his bit as the financial fiasco at the club threatens to destroy a vital piece of Wrexham's existing community and heritage.

West Brom fan Adrian found a fondness for the Welsh club the day he watched Wrexham FC topple giants Arsenal in a famous FA Cup clash at The Racecourse.

Like Ray Stubbs and Garth Crooks, who spoke out about the situation on Saturday, Adrian fears for the future of the cash strapped club, and other clubs who could quickly follow suit.

He said: "My affinity with Wrexham FC developed in university when I met a certain Bryn Law. There were people supporting all sorts of clubs and Bryn supported Wrexham.

"I am one of the 500,000 people who claim to have been at that FA Cup match against Arsenal, although I was actually there.

"I have to say I would support any club finding themselves in this situation though, and I think more clubs could do so in the future. It could happen to anyone.

"I think the fans are doing the right things, and it can be really hard to contain your anger in these circumstances.

"The club still has an asset in the ground and so there must still be a solution here."

Adrian asked the Evening Leader to donate £100 to Wrexham Supporters' Trust for the use of his article.
