Jackett
dismisses Llewellyn move From teamTALK.com Swansea manager Kenny Jackett has dismissed speculation that Wrexham striker Chris Llewellyn is about to join the club. Llewellyn still has a house in Swansea and has reportedly failed to settle properly in Wrexham since he chose the Red Dragons over Swansea some 18 months ago, when former Swans' chief Brian Flynn failed in a bid in bring the player to the Vetch Field. And while speculation has linked the high-flying Swans with a move for Llewellyn this week, Jackett has dismissed the rumours. He said: "There is nothing in it at all. I think the fact that Llewellyn is a Wrexham lad has led to the speculation and the fact that Brian Flynn tried to sign him a while ago. "I've not seen much of him lately but I know what a talented boy he is, although he is not a player we are interested in at the moment." |
DENIS SMITH last night rubbished reports Chris
Llewellyn was heading to Swansea City.
Sources in South Wales yesterday claimed the Wrexham striker had been in talks
over a switch to his hometown club.
But Dragons boss Smith laughed off suggestions Llewellyn would go behind his
back to join Kenny Jack-ett's League Two side.
"That'll teach me for giving him a couple of days off for working so hard,"
Smith joked. "But seriously, I don't and can't believe that he would have done
that. He's not allowed to.
"And if Swansea have been talking to him, it's an illegal approach.
"The club hasn't been approached and I spoke to the administrator today about
any sort of approach for a player, and they hadn't heard anything.
"It all sounds extremely fishy to me."
