Lee and Andy Williams will also be counting seats as well as sitting on them

TWO Wrexham fans were due to start a mammoth "bums on seat" stunt at The Racecourse today as part of a drive to raise money for the club's Supporters Trust.

Lee Williams and Andy Williams' bid to sit on every seat in the ground is just part of the build-up to tomorrow's home game against Hartlepool.

Fans and the club hope there will be a bumper crowd for tomorrow's clash - the last home game before Christmas. Strong home attendances are vital to keep the club going now it is in administration.

The administrators say a break even figure of 4,800 is necessary to allow the club to continue to operate until the end of the season and while a new buyer is being found.

Club bosses and fans will put on various attractions before and during the game.

Lee Williams and Andy Williams have already raised £1,000 through their "bums on seats" initiative and the pair have even been asked by the club to count the seats while their carry out their stunt because the exact capacity of the ground is unknown.

Half of the money raised will go towards Wrexham Supporters Trust and the other half shared between Hope House Children's Hospice and the children's ward at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Another group of fans, led by supporter Neil Williams, has collected dozens of signed shirts from other league club which will be paraded ahead of the game.

Neil said: "We have been given a yes from 80 of the 92 league clubs that they will give us a shirt. We have 30 at the moment and I hope to have 50 or 60 at the game. We will auction them off at Sotheby's in the spring for the Wrexham Supporters Trust."

Other attractions at the game will be the one-off return of popular former mascot Rockin' Robin who will team up with current mascot Wrex the Dragon for the day.

A visit from Father Christmas is expected at half time.

All the fund-raising initiatives and attractions are part of 'a drive to get more people to the home games and to raise money Wrexham Supporters Trust. The trust is hoping to buy a share in the club once the ownership is sorted out.
