Huddersfield collectorsWREXHAM fans have thanked Huddersfield supporters for helping their fight to save the Reds.

A group of Wrexham fans who attended Saturday's game in Yorkshire teamed up with Huddersfield supporters and went around the ground with collecting buckets.

A whopping £3,900 was collected, which will go to help Wrexham Supporters' Trust in their bid to save the club, which faces going into administration on Friday.

Wrexham Supporters' Trust member Phil Wynn said: "Huddersfield were fantastic. We went there at 1.30pm and officials took us around the inside of the ground.

"There were nine of us in total, and Huddersfield Supporters Trust helped us. Robert Pepper from the Huddersfield trust told the newspapers that there would be collecting buckets and people were asking where the bucket were, believe it or not, because they wanted to contribute.

"We raised £3,887 in total, which was amazing. A big thank you goes to the fans from Huddersfield.

"Huddersfield Supporters' Trust is a beacon of hope for Wrexham fans. Their club has been through financial problems and were in court ready to be wound up until somebody produced a cheque. They understand and sympathise with what we are going through."

Meanwhile, Wrexham Supporters' Trust are again encouraging people to make a donation to their cause by calling a special phone line.

The trust is asking everyone who supports their campaign to make a small donation by calling 0904 043 5000.

Calls will cost £1.50, of which at least £1.07 will be donated to the appeal and automatically billed to the caller's telephone account.
