THE
Football League has blocked Stephen Vaughan's plans to switch Chester's big
derby with Wrexham to Widnes's Halton Stadium.
The all-ticket game, which kicks off at the controversial time of 12 noon on a
working day, will definitely take place at The Saunders Honda Stadium on
December 28.
The League said it would be | 'inappropriate' to switch the game with Vaughan
saying: "I understand their viewpoint and we accept it."
Vaughan hasn't ruled out a move to the Widnes Viking ground, but says that he is
exploring other options if he doesn't receive more assistance from the local
authorities.
Tickets for the derby clash are now being printed and the club will make an
announcement about ticket details next week.
