STATEMENT FROM THE JOINT ADMINISTRATOR
OF THE WREXHAM AFC LIMITED (“THE CLUB”)
DAVID ROBERT ACLAND AND STEVEN JOHN WILLIAMS OF BEGBIES TRAYNOR
You will be aware from previous announcements that proceedings have been
commenced against Crucialmove Limited. These proceedings seek an order from the
court that the legal and beneficial ownership of the freehold to The Racecourse
Ground be vested in the club.
At a hearing today in the High Court, London, in the face of an application for
an injunction to prevent any disposal of the ground and equally of importance,
to prevent any action to evict the club, Mr Hamilton on behalf of Crucialmove
limited provided appropriate undertakings to the court.
The proceedings have now been set down for trial, which in the absence of any
earlier conclusion or settlement, are provisionally set to take place in
Birmingham during the week commencing 7th November 2005.
As previously reported, we will continue to explore the possibility of a
consensual sale of the club’s assets, which remains the prime objective. In this
respect, there have been previous reports that Andrew Smith (UPA) had entered
into an exclusivity deal with Mr Hamilton. As we have not been provided with any
formal details, we are unable to comment as to whether the period has expired or
been extended or indeed whether any progress has been made between these two
parties. There has however been no progress from the Administrators’
perspective.
