Phil HardyWREXHAM Football Club's official Supporters Association has added the 2005 inductees to its hall of fame.

In the special ceremony at the Centenary Club at The Racecourse on Friday night, current manager Denis Smith, Mickey Thomas, Phil Hardy, Sammy McMillan, the late Ron Hewitt and Supporters' Association chairman Carroll Clarke were added to the hall of fame roster, which already includes such names as Dixie McNeil and Aly McGowan.

Ken Barnes was also presented with his hall of fame certificate after being unable to attend his induction last year.

Supporters' club secretary Dave Davies said: "It went very well. It was the fourth one we have held and there is a lot of prestige for the inductees.

"Mickey Thomas and Phil Hardy were unable to attend the meeting, but everyone else was delighted to receive their awards and it's always nice to see some of the alumni who attend every year like Alan Fox who played in the 50's and 60's."

Supporters Association chairman Carroll Clarke was added to the hall of fame following his 45 years of service to the association.

He said: "I am absolutely delighted to have been inducted and be in such company of legendary people in the club's history. I've done my bit over the years but it was never done to relieve an award.

"Over the 45 years I've seen a lot of ups and downs, I was connected with the Wrexham revival last time, the club was down in the dumps. I was also a bit of a renegade in the old days and bumped heads with a few directors in my time, but it was always good natured.

"The club has been a large part of my life for a long time, and we're obviously hoping that the Neville Dickens/Geoff Moss bid will be successful. I've known Neville for many years now and am getting to know Geoff Moss and Cliff Finch. We're actually planning a meeting with Mr Finch now to see where they see the Supporters' Association in the future of the club."
