Mike InghamMIKE INGHAM believes a hat-trick of away victories this week is not out of the question, writes RICHARD WILLIAMS.

Having won the first of three successive away matches on Saturday by a 2-0 scoreline at Scunthorpe in the FA Cup, Wrexham continue to clock up the miles when they travel to Torquay United tonight, with Boston United last up at the weekend.

And goalkeeper Ingham hopes Wrexham can build on the success against Scunthorpe when they face Torquay tonight and make it two away wins in a row.

“We want to build on Saturday’s victory,” said Ingham today. “We set our stall out after the last game at home against Lincoln to win these three away games, and I don’t see why not if we perform as we have done in the last few matches. We don’t fear anyone.

“Everybody was expecting us to get stuffed at Scunthorpe and we had nothing to lose. We went there knowing that if we lost 3-0, no-one would have been surprised, but we knew we could win.

“There was no pressure and we gave another good performance. I don’t think they had a proper shot on target and the result was justified.”

An impressive defensive record has seen Wrexham concede just four goals in their last seven matches, and the Reds have kept four clean sheets during that spell.

Ingham has been happy with the defensive unit’s displays and the Northern Ireland international hopes to keep more clean sheets.

“The five players at the back have been working well together and I hope it continues. The lads in front of me have been doing really well and I’m happy with the way it is going,” added Ingham.

“I was not happy with my tally last year. I set a target at the start of last season but only kept 11 or 12 clean sheets. I have set another target this season and so far I have kept seven clean sheets and I am happy with that, but I always strive for as many as possible.

“I am happier off the field now, more settled, and it shows on the pitch. I am happy with my form and long may it continue.”
