Roar on the Reds plea to fans

10/08/06

Denis SmithTHE search for the loudest and most passionate supporters in The Football League is on with the launch of the Real Football Roar award.

And Wrexham fans will have the opportunity to stake their claim at the club’s game against Peterborough United on Saturday.

With The Football League being the focus of attention for the first fortnight of the new season the award has been developed to encourage fans to play an active, and vocal, role in welcoming back the return of Real Football.

The Real Football Roar award will see The Football League measure the decibel levels at every Coca-Cola Football League game during the opening two weekends of the new season – with the club whose supporters generate the most noise, as the teams emerge from the tunnel, winning the honour of being named the loudest fans in The Coca-Cola Football League.

Wrexham manager, Denis Smith said: “We have embarked on an important season for Wrexham FC and it’s vital our fans get behind the team from the start of the new campaign.

“We need your support and the vocal backing you give the team is a big boost when the players run out onto the pitch. The more we can hear you encouraging the lads, the better the atmosphere at the ground and the more enjoyable every game will be for all of us. Hopefully, the Real Football Roar will kick start a great season for the club.”
