MARK
JONES was today waiting for the call to see if he has made it into John
Toshack's full Welsh squad.
Wales face Paraguay in a friendly at The Millennium Stadium on March 1 and
Wrexham-born Jones, who has scored 13 goals in all competitions for his hometown
club this season, is highly rated by Toshack and is tipped by many to make it on
the big stage.
The Welsh boss was due to name his squad today in what will be one of the
youngest Wales squads on record.
Jones is one of a host of players in their teens and early 20s to have been
tipped to get the call for the match against the South Americans, who are one of
England's group opponents in this summer's World Cup finals.
Jones has been capped at under 21 level a number of times and was an unused
substitute in the full international 0-0 friendly draw with Slovenia in Swansea
in August but is now in line for his first outing on the senior stage.
Seventeen year-old Derby defender Lewin Nyatanga is also set for his senior
international debut against Paraguay and will become the youngest ever player to
represent his country.
Mark Jones today received his call up top the full international squad.
